Couples Workshop: grow together, in community.
A 2-day group workshop for couples who want to strengthen their connection alongside others on the same journey: practical, experiential and deeply relational.
Two days that can change the course of your relationship.
The Couples Workshop is a 2-day immersive experience offered throughout the year for small or large groups, hosted by our skilled therapists at Restored Counseling & Wellness Center. It blends large-group learning with private break-out sessions where you and your partner apply what you learn in real time, together.
Derived from Dr. Sue Johnson's Hold Me Tight® program and established attachment research, the workshop translates decades of relationship science into practical conversations and exercises you can take home. You'll learn what drives your conflict, how to reach for each other in vulnerable moments and what it looks like to build a relationship that feels genuinely secure.
Throughout the weekend you'll move between teaching sessions with the whole group and private conversations with your partner guided by experienced therapists. You'll never be put on the spot or asked to share anything personal with the larger group: the break-out work is just for the two of you.
Two versions available
Hold Me Tight®
The original program built on Dr. Sue Johnson's groundbreaking work. Grounded in attachment science and Emotionally Focused Therapy, it's designed for any couple wanting to deepen their bond, regardless of background or belief.
Created for Connection
A version of the same program that integrates Christian faith and prayer into the Hold Me Tight® framework. It uses the book Created for Connection by Dr. Sue Johnson and Kenneth Sanderfer, and is designed for Christian couples who want to bring their faith into the work.
The conversations that actually matter.
Over two days you'll move through seven structured conversations, each designed to build on the last and bring you closer together.
Deeper connection
Learn how attachment shapes your relationship and discover new ways to reach for each other that build security and trust, not distance.
Accessing and sharing emotions
Practice identifying what you really feel underneath the frustration or withdrawal, and sharing it in a way your partner can actually hear and respond to.
Understanding and breaking negative conflict patterns
Recognise the cycle you and your partner get stuck in: who pursues, who withdraws, what triggers each of you. Then learn how to step out of it together.
Healing emotional injuries
Address the hurts, disappointments and disconnections that linger between you. Create space for repair and forgiveness in a structured, supported way.
Improving intimacy
Build the emotional safety that makes physical and emotional intimacy possible. When you feel secure with each other, closeness follows naturally.
For any couple ready to grow.
Couples at any stage
Whether you're dating, engaged, married for decades or somewhere in between, the workshop meets you where you are. You don't need to be in crisis: couples come to grow, reconnect or simply be intentional about their relationship.
Not for couples in active crisis
The workshop works best for couples with a basically stable relationship who want to deepen it. If you're in the middle of infidelity discovery, considering separation or experiencing significant safety concerns, individual couples therapy is likely a better starting point.
An investment in your relationship.
$595
per coupleThe workshop fee covers both partners for the full two days, all materials and guided break-out support from our therapy team. Compared to 12+ weeks of weekly couples sessions to cover the same ground, a workshop is an efficient, cost-effective way to invest in your relationship.
Bring the workshop to your community.
Churches, community centres and organisations regularly host our workshops. If you'd like to bring a Couples Workshop to your group, we'd love to hear from you.
