Healthy You

Healthy Relationships

Healthy Life

Healing isn’t simple, especially when it comes to our health.

Symptoms can originate in our physical bodies, our brains, from our past traumas, or even our relationships. Whether its pain, anxiety, insomnia, or gut issues, knowing where to start can be confusing and overwhelming. It’s easy to feel isolated and discouraged.

You don’t have to journey alone.

Find the healing and support you deserve with:

  • Collaborative, patient-centered care
  • Compassionate providers who listen
  • Support that helps you achieve true wellness, not just the absence of disease
  • Individualized, holistic treatments that consider all possible root-causes
  • Education, tools and resources that empower you to achieve healing and restoration

Maybe …

you’ve benefited from therapy but thought, “I wonder if naturopathic medicine or acupuncture could help?”

Maybe …

you’ve made some positive lifestyle changes – lost the weight, improved your gut health, or managed to reduce your pain, but couldn’t maintain it because you did not have the right support.

Maybe …

you find yourself repeating the same negative cycles or in the same type of relationship and you’re starting to wonder if things will ever be different.

Why Us ?

As licensed health care professionals working in different fields, we’ve seen the need for more patient-centered, integrative care that treats the individual as a whole person and as a part of their greater relational community/system.

We know, and have seen first-hand in ourselves and in our patients, that when mental health improves, physical health improves, and vice versa. Similarly, when our relationships improve, our mental and physical health improve. It’s all connected.

Who are we?

We are a team of therapists, naturopathic doctors, and health professionals who are passionate about helping patients achieve optimal health and wellness in every area of life – mind, body, spirit, and relationship. We understand there is no “one size fits all” approach to healing and we will work to understand your unique needs and goals so that we can help you get the results you are hoping for.
We founded Restored Counseling & Wellness Center after encountering our own share of collective health and relationship challenges. We quickly realized we didn’t have the tools or support to work through these challenges in healthy ways that resulted in real or lasting changes. Through individual and couples’ therapy, naturopathic treatments, hundreds of hours of continuing education, and a fair amount of trial and error, we were finally able to experience true healing and radical transformation.
We feel a deep sense of gratitude for all we’ve been able to overcome and feel compelled to help others in the same way (and hopefully with a few less bumps along the road!)

BEFORE…

Living in the uncertainty of our present world is exhausting. And the demands of daily modern life never seem to slow down.

Add a chronic health condition, relationship issues, or past traumas and you’ve got yourself the perfect recipe for unwanted mental health symptoms

Whether we hide and avoid or overanalyze and try to control, many of us live at the mercy of what life throws at us and our reactions to it.

These maladaptive strategies, often from childhood, lead us to experience pain and brokenness in our minds, bodies, spirits and relationships. They keep us feeling helpless, unworthy, and stuck.

AFTER…

There is another way. One filled with healing and hope, feeling safe, worthy and enough. A life where you’re deeply connected to yourself and others. Whole. Restored.

Although it’s not always easy, we are committed to walking the journey with you and guiding you along the way.  No one gets there alone, and we are here to support you.

Our practitioners are here to help make the journey to restoration as smooth and comfortable as possible.

When you work with us, you can expect to:
  • Find answers to challenging symptoms
  • Make sense of complex feelings and emotions
  • Increase your capacity to handle daily stressors
  • Feel more at peace, even in the chaos
  • Trust and maybe even like yourself
  • Reduce or eliminate your pain and physical symptoms
  • Learn new tools and skills for coping with symptoms and triggers
  • Experience lasting changes in yourself and your relationships

You’re worth feeling well. You’re worth being restored.

If you’re ready to begin your healing journey, ready for a change, we would love to connect with you!

Frequently Asked Questions
Your Title Goes Here
How much do your services cost?

Our rates range between $125-$350 for new patient intakes and $60-$250 for follow-ups depending on the experience of the provider and the services provided. For more detailed pricing, please see our services page. We accept cash, check, or credit card and all fees are due at the time of service. We also accept HSA and FSA (health savings account/flex spending account) plans.

On January 1, 2022, under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, the “No Surprises Act” went into effect and requires health care providers to provide a “Good Faith Estimate” for out-of-network care. At Restored Counseling & Wellness Center we provide all services from a place of transparency regarding the cost of treatment. Our providers and clients collaborate on length of treatment and overall care.

Do you accept insurance?

Because insurance companies dictate how much time you can spend with a patient and which services can be provided and reimbursed, we operate our services on a private-pay/self-pay-only system. Working outside of the insurance model allows us the freedom to take the time needed to properly diagnose and treat you with the most appropriate labs and therapies without restriction. It also allows for the utmost client privacy with sensitive medical records.

We do encourage clients to submit service superbills for potential reimbursement. We have partnered with a service called Mentaya to help clients use their out-of-network benefits to save money on therapy and acupuncture services. Use this tool below to see if you qualify for reimbursement for our services:

Most standard labs and imaging, as well as some prescriptions, are often covered by insurance.

Coverage ultimately depends on your individual plan and deductible status and is determined by your insurance carrier.

Where are you located?
Our office is located at 633 E. Ray Rd Suite 131 Gilbert, AZ 85296 in the Lin-Ray Professional Plaza. When you enter the complex off of Ray Road, the suite will be on the left side of the complex. It can be easy to miss off Ray Rd, so be sure to look closely!
I live in another state. Can I see one of your practitioners?
Our therapists are licensed in Arizona and can provide in person and telehealth services to Arizona residents. Some of our therapists are licensed in other states as well and can provide telehealth services in those locations. Please see our About Us page for specific provider locations.

Our naturopathic doctors are licensed in Arizona and provide in person and telehealth medical services to residents in Arizona. They may act as health consultants in most other states but cannot diagnose, order labs/imaging, or provide any form of treatment in this role.

Do you accept children as patients?
At this time, we accept patients 15 years of age or older.
Do you prescribe medication?
Our licensed naturopathic doctors in the state of Arizona are able to prescribe most medications. They consider the use of medication on a per-case basis along with other possible treatments and will discuss your options with you if a medication is indicated. They are also able to help with tapering and transitioning medications where indicated.
Can therapy help me/Why do people go to therapy?
Therapy can help with a wide variety of symptoms and traumas, whether big or small. It can also be used to maintain an ongoing healthy mental state, similar to taking your car in for regular oil changes so that it runs smoothly. This often looks like getting to know yourself in a clearer way so that you can better understand your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Understanding these helps you make changes that result in better connection to yourself, others, and the world around you.
Does what we talk about in therapy remain confidential?
Yes. Everything is completely confidential, unless there is a risk of harm to yourself or others. If this situation arises, your provider will work closely with you to get you the support you need.

How many therapy or acupuncture sessions will I need?
Depending on your individual needs and treatment goals, the number of sessions can vary.

For therapy, generally the longer you have had a condition, the more sessions you’ll need. If you’ve had traumas or other relationship injuries, these can extend the length of therapy.

Similarly for acupuncture, chronic conditions will usually require more treatments than acute conditions. In general, it is usually best to give acupuncture at least 4-6 treatments to see results.

This is a great topic to discuss with your provider at your first few visits.

How often/frequently should I go to therapy?
This is also on an individual needs basis and unique to your personal history and goals. CONSISTENCY IS KEY for getting the best results. We recommended a minimum of bi-weekly (twice monthly) sessions to get the most of your therapy experience. We offer both 60- and 90-minute sessions. 90-minute sessions can be helpful for couples as it allows enough time for both partners to fully engage in the process.
Do you treat “X” condition?
Although we specialize in mental health support, we treat many other conditions too. If you don’t see your specific concern listed, please contact us for a free 15-minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit for you.
I’ve never tried acupuncture - Does it hurt? How many needles are used?
Acupuncture uses very tiny needles. Most patients will only feel a very slight discomfort on the insertion of a few of the needles, typically in more sensitive areas (hands, feet, or face). Once the first few needles are in, most patients begin to experience relaxation and pain relief due to the release of your body’s own opioids.  Other common and transient sensations can include a dull ache, itching, warmth, tingling, or twitching.

The number of needles used depends on the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) diagnosis (deficient vs excess conditions, for example) and the age and state of a patient’s health. The average treatment uses around 20 needles inserted over about 2-3 minutes. If you are anxious about receiving treatment, please let us know and we can start with fewer needles.

What do I wear for acupuncture sessions?
Loose fitting clothes are best. Most treatments will require access to your head, the skin from your feet to just above the knee, your hands to just above the elbows, and your abdomen from your hip bones to just below your rib cage. For back treatments, you will need to disrobe down to your waist. Modesty draping will be provided.
Is acupuncture the same as dry needling?
Not exactly – although both involve inserting tiny needles into the skin, dry needling is usually done by non-acupuncturists and involves placing a few needles into trigger points or scar tissue and then manipulating the needles in order to relieve tension or restrictions for musculoskeletal conditions. These treatments can sometimes be more aggressive or painful. Acupuncturists and naturopathic doctors who are licensed to practice acupuncture and are trained in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory are typically placing the needles along meridian points to treat underlying TCM diagnoses. More gentle techniques are used to manipulate the needles, if any.
Is TeleHealth an effective way of doing therapy?
Although many people prefer to meet face to face, telehealth can be an alternative option for those who have a busy schedule or live far away. Although telehealth cannot fully replace the face-to-face experience of a therapy session, as long as you are able to create a safe, uninterrupted space for yourself and feel you can engage with your therapist, it can be a very effective form of therapy. Some clients who have busy schedules or live far away have chosen a hybrid option of alternating in-person and telehealth sessions to better suit their lifestyle.
